Six months after the brutal killing of Brazilian human rights defender Marielle Franco, Amnesty International joined forces with a cutting-edge street art festival to demand justice and protest the lack of progress in her case.
As part of Brave Walls, Amnesty International’s initiative using street art to raise awareness of human rights defenders, Portuguese artist Vhils, Founder of Festival Iminente, created a powerful mural of Marielle Franco at the Lisbon festival, held from 21-23 September 2019. Based on this mural, Amnesty created a collection of a t-shirt and a tote bag.
